Some call it "Stuffed Therapy."
Studies have shown that a senior citizen's interactions with a stuffed animal - bears, monkeys, dogs, whatever! - increase happiness and can provide a calming effect. They’re also a great way to allow the elderly, who often have to rely on everyone else for care, to be able to care for something themselves.
That's why we at Immanuel Lutheran Church collect new or gently used stuffed animals to give to residents of Immanuel Manor Senior Residence and Deer Creek Manor Apartments. These stuffed animals offer great comfort to residents during times of distress.
How to donate?
There is a donation box by the bulletin board outside of the the Immanuel Lutheran chapel. You can also leave your gift outside the church office door.
Thank you. You small gift can grow into greater comfort than you may know.
